Pests need the same basics people do: food, water, and shelter. Reducing those opportunities makes your home less inviting.

Control food

Clean spills, store food securely, keep pantry products closed, don't forget pet food, and clean underneath appliances periodically.

Control moisture

Repair accessible leaks and look for recurring moisture around sinks, appliances, bathrooms, basements, crawlspaces, and exterior drainage areas.

Reduce clutter

Cardboard, paper, and stored materials create protected hiding areas, and organized storage also makes pest evidence easier to spot.

Close access points

Inspect doors, windows, utility openings, screens, and exterior gaps. Different pests require different exclusion methods.

Manage the exterior

Keep trash contained, avoid leaving unnecessary standing water, and maintain vegetation around the house.

Monitor instead of guessing

If you see evidence, try to identify the pest and where activity is concentrated. That leads to a better response than treating the whole house blindly.
